The FAMILY (Fostering Adaptive and Resilient Migrant Families) – Building Resilience in the Face of War and Forced Migration project supports families with migration experience in strengthening their resilience and ability to cope with the challenges resulting from war, forced displacement, and adaptation to life in a new environment. The project focuses on providing comprehensive support through close cooperation with local communities and by drawing on good practices developed in Poland and Germany.
The project engages 195 participants, including 75 adults from 40 migrant families (including single-parent families) and 120 children. Through a combination of psychosocial support, educational activities, community-based initiatives, and family-oriented services, participants strengthen their coping skills, rebuild social connections, and improve their overall well-being.
The project follows a multi-phase approach that includes planning, community engagement, development of support solutions, and their practical implementation. Local communities actively participate in project activities, helping to ensure that the support provided is culturally sensitive, relevant to participants’ needs, and sustainable over time. Continuous monitoring and data collection allow the project team to assess progress and adapt activities when necessary.
As a result, migrant families increase their resilience, improve their ability to deal with difficult life situations, and become more actively involved in community life. At the same time, local support networks are strengthened, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for migrant families. The project also develops a transferable model of support that can be applied in other regions and communities facing similar challenges.
