Target groups

The project is addressed to 195 citizens of Ukraine, including 75 adults (40 families including single parents) and 120 children from these families who meet the following conditions:

Formal criteria (to be specified):

• → the family has experienced forced migration from Ukraine related to the armed conflict and its social and psychosocial consequences,

• → families in which parents and/or other adult family members perform caregiving roles toward children are eligible to participate in the programme, in particular grandmothers and grandfathers who are involved in the daily functioning and care of children,

• → at least two members of the same family declare readiness to actively participate in the programme,

• → participation in the programme includes at least one child and at least one adult performing a caregiving role (a parent and/or a grandparent),

• → the family resides in the area covered by the pilot implementation — in Poland.

Substantive criteria:

  • the family identifies a need for support in the area of emotional, relational, or adaptive functioning,
  • the family expresses motivation to participate in educational, workshop-based, and support activities,
  • there are no contraindications to participation in group or family activities (e.g. requiring specialized clinical intervention beyond the scope of the programme).

Organizational criteria:

  • ability to regularly participate in the planned pilot activities,
  • readiness to cooperate with the team implementing the programme,
  • acceptance of the organizational rules of the pilot, including participation in monitoring and evaluation.

During the recruitment process, consideration is also given to ensuring diversity among the families participating in the pilot so that the programme can be tested in different family situations and life contexts.

The recruitment process remains flexible and may be modified based on experiences from the initial pilot, particularly with regard to the effectiveness of reaching families and the actual demand for the support offered.
